This wordless book has a little girl discovering and following a line across the page. As she explores the line it changes and becomes all sorts of different things, including a skipping rope and a slide.

It's the sort of book that parents and teachers sometimes find challenging precisely because there are no words. We're so used to reading stories to children that sometimes we lose practice with just figuring out stories by pictures alone. But it's a great skill to practice and one that even very young children can enjoy (especially young children since they can enjoy it without needing an adult to read the words for them).

Magda's favourite part: When the line becomes a slide and the little girl slides down it.

My favourite part: Hearing Magda's interpretation of what's happening in the pictures.
